Toby Golds teaches 90 minute IYENGAR® yoga classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in a fully equipped yoga studio at the Old Schoolhouse just off Cowley Road. The prices are on a pay what you want basis.  There’s plenty of equipment for students to borrow. He is a Level 3 (AKA Full Intermediate Junior) qualified IYENGAR® yoga teacher, practicing daily for 23 years, and teaching for 14 years, and has studied with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. All the classes are general and are suitable for both complete beginners and very experienced students. Before parenthood in 2020 Toby Golds was known as Toby Lockyer.

⅓ (33%) of Toby’s income is donated to charities chosen by the yoga student community (more details) and his accounts are published publicly each year.

This year, instead of donating a small amount to lots of charities, we have formed a social solidarity link with 4 local organisations, Refugee Resource, Restore, Agnes Smith Advice Centre and Oxford Mutual Aid to each of whom we are donating £752, as well as well as £2,366 to Roots Radical Learning from my maths organisation All Teach Maths Tuition.

As it says on the IYENGAR® yoga UK website “Yoga is one of the oldest systems of personal development in the world. This system of balancing the body, mind and spirit was formulated by ancient yogis, who understood man’s essential nature and realised a way to utilise all of man’s inner resources to live in harmony with himself and the environment. Pupils learn through a carefully graded and systematic programme of asana (posture). Pranayama (breath control) is gradually introduced once students have a firm foundation of yoga practise. Yoga practice both relaxes and energizes the body and mind and brings vitality, flexibility, strength, concentration, self-confidence and mental calm. Yoga is suitable for all types of people and all levels of fitness. Practicing Yoga helps you overcome and prevent many stresses, strains, aches and pains. It promotes a firm foundation for health and well-being.”
